Encore invites students ages 9-18 and adults to audition for the cast of the show and students ages 12-18 and adults to come out and interview for crew. Auditions will be held within a group, and the production team will be looking for projection, teamwork, and creativity skills. Then, the callback list will be posted shortly after the audition date.
Bye Bye Birdie follows Albert Peterson, the agent of Conrad Birdie who is an adored rock and roll idol. Albert’s livelihood is threatened when Conrad Birdie is drafted into the United States Army. Albert and his girlfriend/secretary Rosie devise a plan to secure his financial freedom. They decide that Conrad will give a goodbye kiss to a lucky teenage fan on The Ed Sullivan Show. The lucky fan is a girl named Kim, but the plan is immediately threatened by her overprotective boyfriend. Will Albert achieve financial independence, or will the extravagant plan cause Conrad’s career to come crashing down?
