Series of Arlington pellet attacks damage windows, send person to hospital

Arlington police are investigating a series of attacks with a BB gun or pellet gun in recent days.

Two of the incidents damaged windows, and another sent a victim to the hospital for “serious, non-life threatening injuries,” according to preliminary incident reports from the Arlington County Police Department.

The first of the incidents took place the evening of Thursday, July 2, on the 4000 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive. The victim was inside their residence when they heard a noise and found a pellet lodged between the panes of glass in a window, according to police.

A few days later, around 1:25 a.m. on Sunday, a male victim was reportedly struck by a pellet while he was outside on the 2900 block of 2nd Street S., sending him to Virginia Hospital Center.

Later that same day, around 7:45 p.m., police were once again dispatched to the 4000 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive and found more damage to a window and a pellet on the floor.

“ACPD is actively investigating these recent incidents, and detectives are working to determine if they have any connection to each other,” police spokesperson Kiyah Daniell told ARLnow.
