Two Arlington residents delivered standout performances for Falls Church-based NOVA Fencing & Archery Club at the 2026 USA Fencing National Championships.
Solomon Brosnan, a student at Washington-Liberty High School, captured the Division III National Championship in Men’s Épée. Brosnan began fencing overseas before joining NOVA, where his game rose to a national level.
Maria Majewska, a rising freshman at Yorktown High School, placed 5th out of 261 in Y14 Women’s Saber. Along the way, the 13-year-old earned her Saber A rating — the sport’s highest classification, rarely achieved at her age.
Jeannine Prokop earned a silver medal in Vet-60 Women’s Épée and qualified for the U.S. Veteran World Team, where she will represent the United States at the Veteran World Championships.
Every fencer — even a national champion — starts with a first lesson. Under Head Coach Greg Kaidanov and a staff including some of the nation’s most credentialed maestros, NOVA has earned its reputation as the club that champions call home.
