Mark your calendars for One More Page Book’s 8th celebration of Bookstore Romance Day! When we say “Love is all around,” we mean literally. We’ll have different Romance trope displays all around the store for the return of our famous Trope Tour! There may be one or two additions since last year’s Bookstore Romance Day… Whatever your taste in tropes is, we don’t judge!
The day will be filled with celebration of all things Romance, including a raffle for a basket of hot-ticket items, exclusive goodies, and, of course, books. Spend a few hours browsing the books, sampling some tasty trope-themed mocktails, or stopping in with our friends from Brightside Blend Coffee, who will be serving up delicious brews from their truck right out front.
This year, we have some special guests! Meet two local Romance authors! Maryland-based author Shanti Edwards will be signing copies of her book LOVE IN THE KEY OF BLACK, and Meg Napier will be signing SECOND WHISPER! Authors will be signing between 2 and 4 PM, so feel free to pop in anytime in that window and meet these esteemed storytellers.

About Shanti Edwards: Winner of the Next Bestseller Book Competition in Maryland, Shanti Edwards is a romance author from Prince George’s County, Maryland, crafting stories that celebrate the warmth, rhythm, and depth of Black love. A lawyer by day and a writer at heart, Shanti infuses her short fiction with soulful melodies and vivid emotional moments inspired by her love of music and the places that shape her imagination.
When she’s not spinning R&B playlists or building worlds on the page, Shanti enjoys salsa dancing, having deep discussions about reality TV dating shows, and going to the concerts of her favorite artists.
She currently lives in the Washington, D.C. area, where she’s busy writing her next celebration of love, community, and connection.
About Meg Napier: Meg Napier began dreaming about romance sometime in second grade when she accepted her first proposal. It came with a tiny package of candy, and her addiction to love and sweets was cemented in one fell swoop. Sadly, she lost touch with her first beau, but the idea of life being better when hearts are entwined stuck with her. By the start of high school she had her pen name picked out and a small part of herself saw her books lined up next to those of her favorite authors. Fortunately? Unfortunately? Other parts of herself saw her following society’s encouragement to pursue “important” work. “Important” work won out, followed by a busy and peripatetic life with her family.
Through it all, though, Meg remained convinced that without love, everything else is meaningless. She has been blessed throughout her life to find love everywhere: in supportive parents and siblings, magnificent teachers, good friends, crazy pets, caring co-workers, beloved children, and a wonderful husband. Like probably everyone on this planet, she has known heartbreak, failure, betrayal, and loss, but Mr. Roger’s optimism always seems to prove more durable than pain. Love can be found anywhere, anytime; we just have to keep our eyes and our hearts open.
The titles of Meg’s books and stories all contain the word “second” because most things worth fighting for require more than we can possibly imagine during chapter one.
