Arruda’s Basketball Club (ABC) is gearing up for its third fall season, and tryouts are happening in Arlington the weeks of August 10 and August 17. The fall season runs August 31 through October 29. See why over 145 local athletes played with ABC last spring and fall and sign up below!
ABC is hosting 5–6 tryout sessions per age group. Players may sign up for as many sessions as they like — dates, times, and locations are listed in the registration links below. Evaluations at every session apply to both ABC’s competitive teams and its 3v3 leagues.
Registration Links
Seventh graders may register with the younger group, the older group, or both.
Two paths, depending on your athlete
ABC’s teams compete in weekend tournaments and are built for players ready for a travel environment. The 3v3 leagues are the better fit for multi-sport athletes who don’t have time for travel basketball, players who don’t make a team, and anyone looking for a step below AAU that still delivers real competition and development.
Fall program offerings
- Teams: Grades 4–9
- 3v3 Leagues: Grades 1–10
- 1st & 2nd grade: one night per week
- 3rd & 4th grade: options across four nights per week
- 5th & 6th, 7th & 8th, and 9th & 10th grade leagues: two nights per week
Girls are welcome at all tryouts and in all leagues — several joined the spring 3v3 leagues with great success.
Who’s coaching
ABC was founded by Josh Arruda, a former Marymount assistant coach and current assistant coach at Connecticut College. The program is now led by Director Luke Moritz and a passionate coaching staff made up predominantly of former and active Marymount basketball players, including Kyle Boettner, ABC’s lead trainer, 16U head coach, and an assistant coach at The Potomac School.
