Labor Day brings facility closures to Arlington and Falls Church

Many local government facilities in Arlington and Falls Church will be closed on Monday in honor of Labor Day.

In Arlington, closures include all Arlington Public Library branches, the Cultural Affairs building, the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office and all community centers except for the Long Bridge Aquatics and Fitness Center.

Trash collection will take place as scheduled in Arlington, but the Recycling Center and the Earth Products Recycling Yard will be closed. Additionally, parking meters will not be enforced and Arlington Public Schools students have off.

In Falls Church, all government services and programs at City Hall will be closed on Monday, and the Mary Riley Styles Public Library will be closed on both Sunday and Monday.

The City of Falls Church Community Center will be closed Saturday through Monday for annual maintenance and deep cleaning.

Metrorail and Metrobus will operate on a Sunday schedule. Arlington Transit buses 41, 42, 45, 51, 55, and 87 will operate on Sunday schedules, but all other ART routes will be out of service.
