Gather in Justice: MLK Weekend 2026

Join us for a full weekend honoring the legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through music, worship, and acts of justice.

Friday, Jan. 16 | 7 PM – beheld Concert

Inspired by Dr. King’s words and the teaching of Unitarian theologian Theodore Parker that “the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice,” this evening of song honors our ancestors, names the work ahead, and celebrates community.

Saturday, Jan. 17 | 7 PM – Freedom Concert

Gospel, folk, and more with The Gay Men’s Chorus of DC (Seasons of Love Ensemble), the UUCA House Band, special guests, and local clergy sharing King’s original words.

Sunday, Jan. 18 | 10:15 AM – The King We Remember

Worship with Revs. Amanda Poppei and Carol Thomas Cissel, reflecting on justice, love, and activism, with music from the UUCA Sanctuary Singers.

Monday, Jan. 19 | 10 AM – MLK Day of Service
