Inspired by Dr. King’s words and the teaching of Unitarian theologian Theodore Parker that “the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice,” this evening of song honors our ancestors, names the work ahead, and celebrates community.

Saturday, Jan. 17 | 7 PM – Freedom Concert
Gospel, folk, and more with The Gay Men’s Chorus of DC (Seasons of Love Ensemble), the UUCA House Band, special guests, and local clergy sharing King’s original words.

Sunday, Jan. 18 | 10:15 AM – The King We Remember
Worship with Revs. Amanda Poppei and Carol Thomas Cissel, reflecting on justice, love, and activism, with music from the UUCA Sanctuary Singers.
Monday, Jan. 19 | 10 AM – MLK Day of Service
Compassionate Conversations, Resistance & Justice planning for 2026, letter-writing to elected officials, Valentine-making for local seniors, and a children’s clothing drive (new or gently used).
