I moved back to Arlington and needed guy friends. Now we’re 300 strong.

When I moved back to Northern Virginia, I ran into something a lot of grown men recognize: making guy friends takes more effort than it used to. My old social circle had scattered, and I wanted a few people nearby to grab a drink with, get outside, and hang out with regularly.

I had an idea that small groups and consistent plans could make that easier, so I started bringing a few guys together right here in Arlington. Those first members helped turn a small experiment into Choros, a local community and app built specifically around helping guys form a solid crew.

Arlington has been our home base ever since. It has our highest concentration of active members and activities, including our monthly open happy hour at Upside in Rosslyn, board game nights, trivia, hikes on Theodore Roosevelt Island, and plenty more.

What makes it work is getting beyond the first introduction. Choros helps you find plans that fit your interests and availability, then makes it easier to keep seeing the same people. You get to know the guys across the table, pick conversations back up, and gradually build friendships through time spent together.

We’ve grown to around 300 members across the D.C. area, but those small, familiar groups are still the heart of it.

If you’re in Arlington and want more guys to do things with, come check us out. You can start with a 30-day free trial and join us for a few hangs.
