New LGBTQ+ Fund Makes First Grant! Donations Matched for World Pride!

This week, thanks to the incredible support of community members like you, the new Fund for Queer Causes awarded its first grant: $3,000 in unrestricted funding to a DMV-based organization providing trans-affirming health and mental wellness services right here in our local community.

We started this Fund because, while LGBTQ+ people make up nearly 10% of the U.S. population, less than 0.17% of philanthropic dollars go to LGBTQ+ nonprofits. The Fund for Queer Causes is our way of changing that—by pooling donations, building for long-term sustainability, and awarding queer-advised, no-strings-attached grants to organizations doing vital work on the ground in the DMV area.

Early Years Preschool is registering for the 2025-2026 school year!

Early Years Preschool is a small non-profit preschool and parents day out program that has served local families since 1992. Although the preschool is located within Cherrydale Methodist Church, Early Years is an independent preschool program licensed by both Arlington County and the State of Virginia.

Early Years Preschool offers part-time programs for young children between 12 months – 5 years old. Early Years also offers a 6 week summer program! The school day is 9:30-2:30, with the option of morning extended day offered at 9am. Families have the flexibility of registering for 1-3 days/week in their parent’s day out program (12 months- 2 year olds) and 2-5 days/week for their preschool program (3-5 year olds).

Despite of the challenging weather (Apr 26), Dupont Market Fair was still a success, a testament to showing up and honoring the process. Our artisans will also participate in the first special event of the year, Embassy Day (May 3rd), which we hope will attract an impressive turnout of 30,000 visitors, just like last time! After that, we will be back every other Saturday, starting May 17th and continuing through December, culminating in three ArtRave Christmas Extravaganza shows that also draw thousands!

We are perfectly located across from Dupont Circle Park, which consistently hosts a variety of music performances that enhance the cultural experience of our destination.
