Vivian Kallen, member and past president of AAUW-Arlington, will speak on “Profile in Courage: Kathryn Stone vs the Byrd Machine and the Massive Resistance Movement against School Integration in the 1950s”. Vivian Kallen was part of the insurrectionist group fighting against the Byrd Machine. She was an Associate Professor of Political Science at NOVA-Annandale for 22 years and an Arlington Democratic candidate for the House of Delegates in Richmond in 1969.
