VHC Health Names Brian Choi, MD, MBA, FACC, Chief of Heart & Vascular Services

Experienced cardiovascular physician leader to advance VHC Health’s integrated Heart & Vascular Services

VHC Health, a community-based health system serving the Washington, DC metropolitan area, announced that Brian Choi, MD, MBA, FACC has joined the organization as Chief of Heart & Vascular Services, effective August 31, 2026. In this medical leadership role, Dr. Choi will provide strategic and clinical leadership for the health system’s cardiovascular program, guiding the continued integration, growth and advancement of heart and vascular services to better serve patients throughout the region.

A board-certified cardiologist specializing in advanced non-invasive cardiovascular imaging, Dr. Choi brings nearly two decades of experience as a physician leader, clinician and educator. He joins VHC Health from the GW Medical Faculty Associates (now known as Capital Medical Group), where he served as Chief Medical Information Officer. He also maintained an active clinical practice and academic appointment as Professor of Medicine and Radiology at the George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences. Dr. Choi earned degrees from Yale University, the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania before completing his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. He is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

As Chief of VHC Health’s Heart & Vascular Services, Dr. Choi will work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses and operational leaders to align cardiovascular services, enhance the patient experience, improve quality outcomes and support strategic growth initiatives. His leadership will foster collaboration across specialties while ensuring patients have seamless access to comprehensive cardiovascular care.

At VHC Health, Dr. Choi will lead the continued development of integrated Heart & Vascular Services, including medical services, Non-Invasive Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery, Interventional Radiology and Vascular Surgery. VHC Health is recognized as a leader in cardiac outcomes and patient satisfaction, and it has received the Aetna Institute of Quality® designation for its exceptional cardiac care.
