Wakefield High School Tag Day

Wakefield High School Marching Band Hosts Annual Tag Day Fundraiser – Saturday, September 13, 2025

On Saturday, September 13, 2025, Wakefield High School’s music students will be out in Arlington neighborhoods for the school’s annual Tag Day fundraiser. Tag Day is the biggest fundraising effort of the year for the school’s award-winning music program, which includes marching band, orchestra, chorus, and guitar ensembles.

Community support is vital. The costs of instruments, uniforms, sheet music, travel, and competition fees are significant, and donations help ensure that every student has access to the full experience. Funds raised cover expenses such as instrument repair and replacement, travel to regional and state competitions, professional music clinics, and performance opportunities. Contributions directly impact the quality of the program and allow all students, regardless of financial means, to participate.

Wakefield ensembles consistently shine across Virginia. In recent years, the school’s groups have received top awards at competitions, including the honor of being named Overall Best Orchestra in 2023. These achievements not only reflect the talent and dedication of the students but also highlight Arlington’s strong community support for the arts.

How to Give: It’s easy to donate even if you miss the students on Tag Day. Contributions can be made year-round online at wakefieldband.org/tag-day/

, or by PayPal, Venmo, credit card, or mailed check. Donations are tax-deductible.
