Encore Stage & Studio’s National Endowment for the Arts-funded program takes on its third production with Flip the Script: Foodways of Arlington, a Cultural Celebration. Students grades 8-12 to are invited to shine a light on rarely heard stories as a writer!
This inspiring production will give a diverse group of students the free opportunity to devise and perform a theatrical piece on food traditions and stories of three distinct cultures in the global community of Arlington VA.
Students will be credited as writers in the student-devised production to be presented in March 2025. They will experience creative sessions with professional directors and artists and have the opportunity to research and learn about the food culture along Columbia Pike.
Creative sessions are Mondays, April 1 – May 20, 2024 | 5:30 – 8:00 pm at Encore’s Administrative Offices (4500 Langston Blvd. Arlington, VA 22207). To apply, students must complete the online application form and include an approximately 500 word writing sample. March 15 is the deadline for best consideration. Visit www.encorestage.org to apply today.
