Freedom 250 Open House and Concert, May 31, 2026

The National Foreign Affairs Training Center (NFATC) will host a Freedom 250 Open House and Concert on May 31, 2026, to commemorate 250 years of American independence and the Department of State’s service to the Nation. This free, outdoor event is open to the public for an afternoon of fun celebrating the United States Semiquincentennial.

Date/Time: May 31, 2026, 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Location: NFATC’s main lawn (outdoors, shine only)

Audience: Open to the public. (Advance registration is required, and tickets must be secured in advance. The link above will open ticketing for the public May 1.)

Location: George P. Shultz National Foreign Affairs Training Center, 4000 Arlington Boulevard, Arlington, VA 22204

Activities:

• Open House highlighting the State Department’s mission and recruiting efforts

• 2:30 p.m. Demonstration by the U.S. Navy Silent Drill Team

• 2:55 p.m. Presentation of the Colors by the Military District of Washington’s Joint Armed Forces Color Guard

• 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. Performance by the U.S. Air Force Concert Band and Singing Sergeants

Outside food and beverage is prohibited under security guidelines but will be available for purchase on site. Bring a blanket or chair to enjoy the event on the lawn.

All guests will undergo security screening upon entry. In accordance with the REAL ID Act (effective May 7, 2025), attendees aged 16 and older must present a REAL ID–compliant form of identification. Please refer to the TSA website for acceptable forms of ID.
