Neighborhood Day 2026 is a celebration of heritage and Black joy, organization by the John M. Langston Citizens Association. On Saturday, May 30th we open at 10am with Memorializing the Enslaved Stumbling Stone Unveiling – a solemn and powerful ceremony honoring the formerly enslaved people from the Basil Hall and other plantations whose labor shaped this land. At 12pm the community gathers for the VHC-Health Park Dedication, recognizing the legacy of African American physicians Dr. Edward T. Morton and Dr. Harold Johnson, who served the community with distinction. At 1pm Historic Walking Tours bring the neighborhood’s hidden gems to life. From 2 to 6pm High View Park’s playground transforms in a full community celebration featuring a DJ, face painters and a children’s zone, classic card games, and community giveaways and FREE FOOD!
FREE AND OPEN TO ALL!
