Halls Hill History Walk

Join WalkArlington as we explore and learn about Halls Hill, a historically African American neighborhood in Arlington known for its strong sense of community.

The walk will begin at the Segregation Wall at 17th and N. Culpepper Sts., and will include six additional stops at historic neighborhood sites, including

Calloway United Methodist Church, Fire Station 8, Langston School/Langston-Brown Community Center, Mount Salvation Baptist Church, the Welcoming Area to Halls Hill/High View Park, and Mr. Moore’s Barbershop. Each stop will be hosted by a local subject matter expert, who will share the story and significance of that stop and answer questions. Plan to spend approximately 15 minutes at each stop, allowing five minutes to walk between them.

Afterwards, we will gather at Calloway United Methodist Church for beverages and light refreshments.

Space is limited, so please RSVP on Eventbrite to attend this event!
