New Exhibit: From Barriers to Ballots AND History Spotlight

Visit the Arlington Historical Museum’s new voting rights exhibit “From Barriers to Ballots” commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the Voting Rights Act. The exhibit features artifacts and documents about Arlington’s voting history including ballot boxes used when the Hume School was a polling place and a poll tax receipt–when you had to pay to be able to vote.

— At 2:00 PM hear a 15-Minute History Spotlight about the history of voting in Arlington by Dr. Mark Benbow.

— Learn about historic voting barriers in Arlington.

— Use the ballot boxes to let us know what you think voting means today.

The Museum is open on Saturdays from 10 AM – 4 PM, (Sunday from 1 – 4 PM)
