Sungazing

Ever wondered what the Sun really looks like up close? Join us for a hands-on astronomy experience right outside the Museum.

Safely observe the Sun through specially filtered telescopes and discover solar features like sunspots, prominences, and flares. Our expert staff will be on hand to guide your viewing and answer all your burning questions about our closest star.

No reservations needed—just drop by! This free program usually runs on Fridays and Saturdays, but keep in mind: if the skies are cloudy, rainy, or temperatures extreme, we’ll have to postpone our solar adventure.

Accessibility for All

The observing area is fully accessible via public sidewalks and the Museum’s terrace. We offer written and touchable materials to support learners of all types.
