Study Japanese in Arlington (SJA) is proud to present a traditional tea ceremony and kimono dressing session with Hideko Uchiyama — a kimono instructor with a decade of tea ceremony experience. This is an intimate in-person session for a maximum of 20 people per session to experience the beauty of Japanese culture up-close.
Additionally, the event will feature kimono, accessories, and tea ceremony-related items for sale by Arise Bazaar (Clinton, MD), with select proceeds going to supporting SJA's local fundraising efforts.
Don't miss out on this chance to learn from a master and enjoy a moment of peace and serenity in the midst of your busy day.
There will be two sessions held in the morning (10 am – 12 pm) and afternoon (2 – 4 pm) of Sunday, November 15th.
IMPORTANT, please note: There are 20 tea ceremony-only tickets ($20) and 5 combo tea/kimono tickets ($35) available per session.
Our instructor will dress you in a kimono over your own clothing. Please wear light, comfortable clothing and provide your clothing size in advance.
The event will take place in a private residence accessible (10~15 minute walk) by the Pentagon City Metro Station in Arlington, Virginia, with further address details to be sent to all registered attendees closer to the event date.
