Two Free Workshops: Right-Sizing Planning +Demystifying Retirement Communities

Cody Chance and Dick Nathan of Long & Foster are hosting a free workshop at our office on Cherry Hill Rd. (formerly Lee Highway) on the topic of “down-sizing” Thursday, November 21 from 5:30-7:30. We have created a workbook with an extensive planning guide to enable you to design a personalized written plan for your move. It includes copious resources specific to Northern Virginia to help you to find the best people to assist you, and to get your extra belongings into the hands of people who will value them. The format is a “guided group discussion” of the workbook, with a chance for the participants to ask their own questions. Special guest presenter Alexandra Fry of Orchestrated Moves will be joining us to share her many years of expertise in organization and moving.

We will cover three major themes:

• Handling a lifetime’s worth of possessions

• Ensuring that your legal and financial arrangements reflect your needs

• How to sell your current home and find another that is the “right size” for you

We will also be hosting an earlier session at 3:30 on “Demystifying Continuing Care Retirement Communities.” If you have ever wondered whether a ‘CCRC’ might be right for you or someone you love, please join us for an informative session where we explore how these communities work, what some financial models look like, and how to vet communities to find the one that’s right for you.

We welcome you to attend either or both sessions. Refreshments will be provided.
