Poppies represent the remembrance of the sacrifice of soldiers and also the hope for peace. Students will watch a short video about the history of poppies as a symbol for veterans. Students will be making poppies to bring home or give to someone you know who has served in the military.
All profits from this class will go to Boulder Crest Foundation, an organization in Virginia that supports and helps heal soldiers with PTSD and their families. For more information about this organization, go to: bouldercrest.org.
If there is low enrollment in the k-2nd and 3-5th grade sections of this class, the two age groups may be combined.
For details on registration, please visit our website! The Veterans Day Workshop: Making Poppies will take place on Tuesday, November 11th from 1-3p at Art House 7.
