Chef Katie Gilman, owner of Taste by Katie a to go restaurant in Arlington, is honoring her favorite team, the Nats, by creating a Get Your Red On Ice Cream. Based on Red Velvet Cake and studded with white chocolate chips, the ice cream will be available as long as the Nats are in the play-offs.
“I am a huge Nats fan,” said Chef Katie. “Since starting Taste in April, I’ve been thinking about creating a special ice cream for the play-offs.” Get Your Red On Ice Cream is one of many unique flavors of ice cream created by Chef Katie as part of Taste’s One Perfect Scoop of Ice Cream summer desserts. Each scoop of ice cream is $2.
In addition to desserts, Chef Katie prepares Happy Hour to Go and Dinner to Go, featuring seasonal ingredients and global flavors. The assortment of hot and cold appetizers are perfect to munch on while watching the Nats. The hot appetizers and dinners are ready when you are, just reheat and eat. Each week, Chef Katie offers a new menu, including gluten-free and vegetarian options. Taste, located at 6017 Wilson Boulevard, in the Dominion Hills Centre, is open Tuesday-Friday from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday noon-4:00 p.m.
