Every day, hundreds of adults interact with children: teachers, shopkeepers, bus drivers, food service workers, childcare providers, coaches, tutors, scout leaders, youth ministers, etc. Some of these adults go out of their way to build positive, supportive relationships with our children. Now you can recognize their efforts!
The Arlington Partnership for Children, Youth and Families is seeking nominations for the Fall 2014 class of “Connect With Kids Champions”.
Connect with Kids Champions are individuals, groups, or organizations that go above and beyond to connect with, support, and inspire, young people in positive, meaningful ways. In Arlington, only half of our youth report having 3 or more non-parent adults in their lives . Research has shown that youth with more positive adult role models who are involved in their lives are more likely to make healthy, positive choices.
Nominations are accepted now through October 19 using this online nomination form.
Winners will be announced on November 14, 2014. Champions will be recognized at a special reception celebrating 10 years of Connect With Kids Champions, to be held on February 11, 2015.
