School Board Vice Chair Nancy Van Doren, seeking re-election and the Arlington Democratic Committee endorsement, is encouraging Arlingtonians to come out and vote in the Democratic School Board Caucus May 19 and May 21.
“I am seeking re-election and I ask for your vote in this Caucus,” said Van Doren. “Two candidates will emerge with the Democratic endorsement and move on to the general election in November. I ask Arlingtonians to allow me to continue my service on the Board and select me for one of their votes.”
Voting will take place on two days and in two locations:
Thursday, May 19th
7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Drew Model Elementary School
3500 23rd Street South
Saturday, May 21st
11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Washington-Lee High School
1301 North Stafford Street
As this is a Democratic Caucus, not a primary, voting is held in two special polling locations, Drew Model Elementary School on Thursday evening and Washington-Lee High School on Saturday. For more information about the Democratic Caucus rules visit www.ArlingtonDemocrats.org.
“I will continue to support our great teachers, strengthen our instructional programs, and ensure we have enough capacity for our students,” said Van Doren, who has the support of the Arlington Education Association’s PAC and earned the endorsement of the Sun Gazette.
“It is a critical time in our community,” said Van Doren. “I am prepared to meet the challenges before us. I ask Arlington citizens for their support in my re-election. Please come out and vote!”
