Ortho OIC Orthopaedic Immediate Care Opens First Independent Orthopaedic Specialty Urgent Care In Arlington
Ortho OIC Orthopaedic Immediate Care, the area’s first independent orthopaedic specialty urgent care, recently opened its doors in Arlington, VA. The facility is located at 1701 Clarendon Blvd Suite 120, and is a state of the art full service orthopaedic clinic. Ortho OIC was developed by Dr. Lonnie Davis to address the growing need for qualified orthopaedic care for patients on the go. Dr. Davis, who has been in private practice in the Washington DC metro for nearly 15 years, saw a significant gap in the current healthcare delivery system. He started Ortho OIC to address the growing need for cost effective and reliable treatment for acute orthopaedic injuries. The facility is the ideal solution to the overcrowded conditions at local hospital emergency rooms, offering patients minimal wait times and the highest standard of care for acute orthopedic injuries.
Ortho OIC Orthopaedic Immediate Care is open Monday thru Friday from 11 am to 7 pm and Saturday from Noon to 4 pm. The office offers online scheduling and walk-in appointments are always welcomed. The clinic is staffed by orthopaedic specialists, and features onsite digital x-ray and dry lab. Ortho OIC treats adults and children with acute orthopaedic injuries including sprains and strains, sports injuries, fractures, ligament and tendon injuries, back and neck pain and suturing for simple lacerations. The facility also treats work-related musculoskeletal injuries. In addition to on site x-ray, the clinic provides casting and bracing services. Ortho OIC accepts most types of insurance and features short wait times.
“I felt that Arlington, VA was the perfect location for the first Ortho OIC facility given the activity level of the community, population density and proximity to Washington, DC,” said Dr. Davis. “Our goal was to offer a unique health care service line – an independent orthopaedic urgent care facility in an urban environment.” Dr. Davis continued, “Based on my experience in private practice, I felt that this was a service that the public sorely needed. We offer an alternative to the long lines and expense of the ER for most ambulatory orthopaedic injuries.” Not satisfied with just being available, Dr. Davis emphasizes the commitment of Ortho OIC to delivering high-quality orthopaedic healthcare in a location that is more accessible than the traditional orthopaedic office and at times when patients can schedule around work or school. As Dr. Davis mentions, the slogan for the new facility is “Treating orthopaedic injuries…at the speed of life.”
Prior to starting Ortho OIC Orthopaedic Immediate Care, Dr. Davis has been in private practice in the Northern Virginia, where he specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery. He has worked with athletes at all levels from recreational to collegiate and professional. Dr. Davis earned his medical degree at the University of Virginia and received his Bachelor of Science from Cornell University. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Indiana University and fellowship training in Arlington, Virginia.
Ortho OIC will be holding a grand opening event on September 19th from 11:30 am – 1 pm. The event is open to the public and will feature a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Arlington Chamber of Commerce. Following the ribbon cutting, the facility will open its doors for tours.
