Arlington, VA – December 4, 2017 – Arlington-based software company, Dante, announced Signature Theatre is the latest to join its consumer product Ouli App. The uniquely intelligent, personal concierge app connects consumers to local merchants, events, and community experiences that are personalized based on chosen activities, time, location, history and preferences. The app is available for free download on iOS and Android devices.
Shirlington-based Signature Theatre is one of many local theaters that has partnered with the app to spread the word about upcoming productions. The theater scene in Arlington is robust. With everything from children’s theatre to award-winning productions, the choices can be overlooked and even a bit overwhelming. With Ouli users can select the “See a Show” intent, and the app will provide suggestions which allows them to see a synopsis of the play, the dates and times it’s running, and allow them to add it to their calendar to receive reminders. In addition to partnering with local theaters and arts groups, Ouli has partnered with local businesses and community organizations since its launch in late 2015. With thousands of current users, the app is connecting consumers to businesses, theaters, local events, volunteer opportunities, community experiences and more.
One of the community organizations with whom Ouli has partnered is Embracing Arlington Arts – a local citizens group that advocates and helps increase the visibility of Arlington Arts organizations and artists in the County. “Ouli App is a great way to discover local theater,” stated Janet Kopenhaver, Founder and Chair of Embracing Arlington Arts. “Many of our groups and artists have very limited budgets and staff so any avenues to help them reach the community – especially targeting our younger audience members – is so critical in spreading the word about the thousands of events, productions and openings offered each and every day in Arlington.”
“Dining out and shopping are only a small part of enjoying a community. Cultural events, sports, performing arts; there are so many great things to do in cities. The Metro DC area has a great performing arts scene and we want to make it easier than ever for residents to enjoy and support their local theaters,” said Pierre Malko, Dante’s CEO. “By fusing technology and performing arts we are bringing theaters to top of mind for the age-old question, ‘what should we do tonight?’ Within minutes Ouli users can plan an entire day or weekend out. Users can find what they want to do and then make it happen all within the app. No additional searching and planning required.”
By learning users’ preferences, the app tailors its recommendations to each user and provides personalized suggestions based on location, time of day and choice of activity including: dining out, happy hour, shopping, local events, doing something with the kids, volunteering, and many other options. Ouli is steadily adding merchants in Northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington D.C. In addition to providing personalized offers and suggestions, Ouli can help users book reservations with OpenTable through the app and set up Uber rides to merchant locations.
