Goldstein Earns Two Key Endorsements

ARLINGTON – Arlington School Board candidate Reid Goldstein picked up his first two endorsements from key state legislators on the heels of the campaign’s first debate. Senator Adam Ebbin (D-30th) and Delegate Alfonso Lopez (D-49th) both endorsed Goldstein, citing his years of leadership experience and collaborative work style as key traits needed for the challenges of office that lie ahead.

“Reid Goldstein is my choice for Arlington School Board because he has the commitment, knowledge and experience needed during this challenging time for the school system,” said Senator Ebbin. “Reid is the best candidate to work with both other school board members and county board members as they tackle tough issues, including school crowding and the achievement gap.”

Del. Lopez cited Goldstein’s dedication to the community and command of the issues as the reason he endorsed Goldstein. “I’ve known Reid for years and I’m proud to call him a friend. I have seen him dedicate countless hours to helping Arlington wrestle with great challenges, and work tirelessly to build a better community,” Del. Lopez said. “I know he will bring that same dedication and a nuanced understanding of the issues to the job of school board member. Reid is the kind of leader we need on the School Board.”

The endorsements came right after Goldstein faced off with his opponent in front of approximately 100 loyal Democrats at the Arlington County Democratic Committee monthly meeting at the Fairlington Community Center on April 1. Goldstein’s next campaign events include in-home coffees at the home of Lander Allin and Gretchen Carter (April 10) and Tom and Amy Nice (April 12).
