There are only two days left to cast a vote for which 2012-2013 decal you think should grace Arlington’s car windshields later this year.
Every year, high school students enter original artwork or photos into the Vehicle Decal Design Competition. A panel whittles down the entries to four finalists.
About 155,000 Arlington residents display the decals to prove payment of that vehicle’s personal property tax.
The four finalist designs, along with descriptions written by each student, are available online for viewing and voting. All votes must be submitted by noon on Sunday.

Plenty of cities/counties in the Commonwealth still charge the $20-30ish for the decal but don’t give you one. Almost pure profit for them.
Correct. They just call it a processing fee now and don’t spend the money on printing and mailing decals.
What will happen to those stupid decal check points if the decals are no longer required? Oh my no crime no overtime.
They will just scan your license plate instead and will know if you are a tax scofflaw (take notice potential political candidates).

Gotta vote for ‘fun at the fair’ given the story last year about the Arlington county employee embezzling money from the fair.

It is too bad we can’t post pictures anymore. Photoshopped decals would provide a whole day’s worth of entertainment.
I remember when people posted their own photoshopped decals last year – it was great and yes, entertaining.
Those were quite a bit of fun…not to mention that some were pretty clever.
I want the one that Bondi has on her car.

But wasn’t some county fair employee siphoning money from the operator of the ferris wheel or something? That’s what I think of when I see that.

+10. I am also a bit tired of death,death, and war. Is the military the only representation of Arlington? I’ve grown a bit tired of the 9/11 mania. More Americans have died in Iraq and Afpak than died on 9/11. Of course no one counts the Iraqis, Afgans, and Pakistanis who have lost thier lives. What is the reason that our government does not treat everyone’s life as of equal value?

How about Yellow, so there isn’t so much contrast on the dash. Why not match it with the inspection sticker?
My new inspection sticker has a big RED ’13′ on it, so I guess the big red decal will match. Good thing I’m not superstitious or anything.
