Crime Report: Stealing Money From Church

Of all the places to steal from, someone apparently decided to break into the Arlington Forest United Methodist church last Thursday to swipe some cash. From the latest Arlington Police Department crime report:

BURGLARY 03/11/10, 4700 block of Arlington Boulevard. On March 11 between 3 pm and 6:30 pm, an unknown person forcibly entered a church and stole currency. There are no known suspects.

That’s just one of the brazen acts contained in the this week’s report, which also mentions the arrest in the Lyon Park homicide case and the remarkably long list of larcenies from auto.

HOMICIDE-ARREST 03/14/10, 2800 block of N. Pershing Drive. On March 14 at 11:15 pm, police responded to a man injured on a sidewalk. The victim, Cain Guevara-Estrada, 20, of Arlington, died shortly afterward. Detectives located the suspect later in the day. Anner Rouben Hernandez-Estrada, 20, of Arlington, was charged with Murder. He is currently being held without bond in the Arlington County Detention Center.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING 03/14/10, 3000 block of Washington Boulevard. On March 14 at 3 am, a man was with a group of people he knew when one subject hit him on the head with a glass bottle. The suspect is known.

LATE ROBBERY 03/11/10, 300 block of S. Harrison Street. On March 10 at 8:30 pm, a man was assaulted by a group of five unknown men that he had been drinking with. They also stole his jacket and several other items. The suspects are all white Hispanic males in their 20’s. The victim reported the robbery a day after it occurred.

BURGLARY 03/10/10, 1200 block of N. Wayne Street. On March 10 between 8 am and 7 pm, an unknown person entered an apartment and stole various items. There are no known suspects.

BURGLARY 03/10/10, 3800 block of N. 6th Street. On March 10 between 9 am and 10 pm, an unknown person entered an apartment through a window and stole a laptop and currency. There is no suspect description.

BURGLARY 03/16/10, 3800 block of N. 7th Street. On March 16, between 7:30 pm and 9 pm, an unknown subject broke into an apartment and stole various valuables. There are no known suspects.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY 03/11/10, 900 block of S. Buchanan Street. On March 11 at 10 pm, an unknown man attempted to enter an apartment through a window. He was confronted by the residents of the apartment and fled. The suspect is described as a white Hispanic male, 5’2″ and 120 lbs. He was wearing a black t-shirt, grey jacket and black jeans.

GRAND LARCENY AUTO-ARREST 03/12/10, I-395 South at King Street. On March 12 at 3 am, an officer conducted a traffic stop. The investigation found that the vehicle was stolen. Musa Sulaiman Bangura, 24, was charged with Grand Larceny of an Automobile and Improper Registration. He was held without bond.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 03/11/10, 1600 block of N. Colonial Terrace. Between 5 pm on March 10, and 7:30 am on March 11, an unknown subject stole the wheels and tires from two vehicles on the same street. There is no suspect description.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 03/12/10, 800 block of Army Navy Drive. On March 12 between 10 am and 12:30 pm, an unknown subject broke into at least three vehicles in a parking garage. The suspect stole all visible valuables. There is no suspect description.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 03/15/10, 1300-1400 blocks of N. Quincy Street. On March 15, between 8 pm and 9 pm, an unknown subject broke into at least two vehicles in the same general area by breaking windows on each vehicle. The suspect stole items from one vehicle. There is no suspect description.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 03/15/10, 3200 block of Wilson Boulevard. On March 15, between 9 pm and 10 pm, an unknown subject broke into at least two vehicles in a restaurant parking lot. The suspect stole various valuables. There is no suspect description.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 03/15/10, 2600-2700 blocks of N. Rockingham Street. Between 10 pm on March 14 and 2 pm on March 15, an unknown subject broke into at least four vehicles in the same general neighborhood. The suspect stole one vehicle, attempted to steal another, and stole items from two vehicles. There is no suspect description.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 03/16/10, 800 block of Army Navy Drive. On March 16, between 7 am and 2 pm, an unknown subject broke into at least two vehicles in a parking garage. The suspect stole various items. There is no suspect description.
