Crime Report: Robbers Now Wearing Abercrombie

From this week’s Arlington Police Department crime report, a pair of robberies:

ROBBERY 03/17/10, 600 block of N. Glebe Road. On March 17 at 2 pm, an aggressive panhandler assaulted a teenage male and stole money from his wallet. The suspect is described as an African American male, between 20-30 years of age, 5’7″. He was wearing a dark hooded trench coat, sunglasses, khaki pants, and had a “scruffy” appearance.

ROBBERY 3/19/10, 6000 block of N. 27th Street. On March 19 at 11:30 pm, a woman was walking to her house when two unknown men approached her. One implied that he had a knife and stole her purse and jewelry. The suspects left in an unknown vehicle. Both suspects were described as white Hispanic men. The first suspect was 5’7″, 160 lbs, and was wearing jeans and a dark colored hooded sweatshirt. The second suspect was 5’5″, 180 lbs, and was wearing loose jeans and a white “Abercrombie” shirt.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING 03/20/10, 5500 block of Columbia Pike. On March 20 at 5 am, police responded for an injured man suffering from facial lacerations. The subject was intoxicated and could not account for his injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING 03/21/10, 2000 block of Columbia Pike. On March 21 at 8 pm, a man argued with another man and stabbed him in the abdomen. The suspect also cut the victim’s sister on the arm. The suspect is known.

INDECENT EXPOSURE 03/19/10, 300 block of S. Harrison Street. On March 19 at 6:30 pm, a woman was running on a bike trail when she witnessed an unknown male expose himself. The suspect was a white Hispanic male, 5’6″ and160lbs. He had “shaggy” black hair, and was wearing all grey clothing with grey cloth over the lower half of his face.

INDECENT EXPOSURE 03/22/10, 1400 block of N. Quincy Street. On March 22 at 6:30 pm, a woman was walking on a bike trail when she witnessed an unknown male expose himself. The suspect was a white male wearing dark colored clothing with a black ski mask on his face.

BURGLARY 03/17/10, 6300 block of N. 23rd St. On March 17, between 2 pm and 4 pm, an unknown subject broke into a residence and stole electronics and jewelry. There are no known suspects.

BURGLARY 03/19/10, 900 block of N. Pollard Street. On March 19, between noon and 2:30 pm, an unknown subject entered an apartment and stole several laptop computers. There are no known suspects.

BURGLARY 03/23/10, 900 block of N. Potomac Street. Between 8 am on March 20, and 5 pm on March 23, an unknown person entered a house and stole numerous items of jewelry. There is no suspect description.

BURGLARY 03/23/10, 3800 block of N. 6th Street. On March 23 between 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm, an unknown person entered an apartment through a window and stole currency. There are no known suspects.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 03/22/10, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. On March 22 at 5:40 am, two suspects smashed an exterior glass door to a mall store. The suspects entered the store and stole various items. Both suspect were African American males wearing dark clothing. One suspect was wearing pants with a white stripe down the side.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY 03/20/10, 6200 block of N. 12th Street. On March 20, between 6 pm and 9 pm, an unknown subject tried to enter a house through a window, but was unsuccessful. There are no known suspects.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY-ARREST 03/22/10, 3800 block of N. 7th Street. On March 22 at 11 am, two teenage males attempted to enter an apartment through a window. The suspects were taken into custody and detained.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY 03/23/10, 1800 block of N. Harrison Street. On March 23 at 7 pm, an unknown subject forced entry into a house, but fled when the alarm sounded. There is no suspect description.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES) 03/20/10, 1500 block of N. Taylor Street. Between 10 pm on March 19, and 8 am on March 20, an unknown subject smashed the side view mirrors on at least three vehicles in the same area. There is no suspect information.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 03/20/10, 5200 block of Wilson Boulevard. On March 20 between 8 pm and 10:30 pm, an unknown subject broke into several vehicles by smashing out windows. The suspect stole a laptop from one vehicle. There are no known suspects.
