Crime Report: The Tables Have Turned Edition

In this week’s Arlington County crime report, a man pulls a gun on his ex-boyfriend on Valentine’s Day, leading to a struggle. The victim manages to take away the suspect’s gun, and the suspect flees. Ironically, this scene played out only one block from police headquarters in Courthouse.

ABDUCTION 02/14/11, 2000 block of N. 15th Street. On February 14 at 6:50 pm, a man was walking to his car when his ex-boyfriend approached him displaying a firearm. The suspect attempted to force the victim into a car, and the two struggled. The victim was able to recover the weapon and call police. The suspect fled. Warrants are pending.

ROBBERY 02/09/11, 1200 block of N. Wayne Street. On February 9 at 3:20 pm, a woman was walking in a stairwell when an unknown man stole her purse from her hand. The suspect is described as an Asian male in his 20’s and 5’7″. He was wearing a yellow and red striped knit hat, and a black coat and black jeans.

ROBBERY 02/09/11, 1300 block of S. Joyce Street. On February 9 at 6:30 pm, a man was walking with his cell phone in his hand when an unknown male slapped the phone from his hand. The suspect then assaulted the victim and took the phone. The suspect is described as an 18 year-old African American male, 5’3″ and 110 lbs. He was wearing a New York Yankees baseball hat and dark clothing.

ROBBERY 02/10/11, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. On February 10 at 8:40 pm, a man stole a ring from a jewelry clerk’s hand. The suspect was an African American male in his late 30’s, 6’3″ and 180 lbs. He was wearing a beige colored suit, a brown shirt and glasses with brown frames.

ROBBERY-ARREST 02/13/11, 5000 block of Columbia Pike. On February 12 at 10:20 pm, a teenager was walking when two older male teenagers confronted him. One suspect held the victim while the other removed money and a cell phone from the victim’s pockets. Both suspects were apprehended and charged. The juveniles were held at a juvenile detention facility.

ASSAULT ON POLICE-ARREST 02/12/11, 700 block of S. Ode Street. A woman was found in possession of narcotics while being medically treated. When placed under arrest, she assaulted an officer. Sabrina Jennings, 33, of Arlington, was charged with Assault and Battery on Law Enforcement, Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Marijuana. She was held without bond.

BURGLARY 02/14/11, 3900 block of Wilson Boulevard. Between 5 pm on February 13, and 8 am on February 14, an unknown subject broke into a business and stole currency. There is no suspect description.

BURGLARY 02/14/11, 3700 block of N. 7th Street. On February 14 between 9:30 am and 7 pm, an unknown subject entered an apartment and stole a laptop. There are no known suspects.

BURGLARY 02/14/11, 3700 block of N. 7th Street. On February 14 between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, an unknown subject entered an apartment and stole electronics. There is no suspect description.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY 02/09/11, 900 block of S. 28th Street. On February 9 at 1:30 pm, a man followed a woman in through the basement entrance of her residence. When confronted by her dog, he left. The suspect was a man with a medium complexion, 5’10” with a medium build. He was wearing a black knit hat, and a navy blue jacket and pants.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY 02/11/11, 5100 block of S. 8th Road. On February 11 between 1 pm and 7 pm, a known subject entered an apartment through a window.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY 02/14/11, 600 block of S. Wakefield Street. On February 13 between 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm, a known subject entered a school and let juveniles enter the building.

ATTEMPT BURGLARY 02/14/11,700 block of N. Nelson Street. On February 14 between 7 am and 8 pm, an unknown subject attempted to enter an apartment and damaged the lock on the front door. There is no suspect description.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY-ARREST 02/12/11, 1700 block of N. Quinn Street. On February 12 at 4 am, an intoxicated man broke the front glass door of two apartment buildings. William Hoang, 33, of Falls Church, was charged with Destruction of Property and Drunk in Public. He was held on a $2,000 bond.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 02/09/11, 2900 block of S. 9th Street. On February 9 between 7 pm and 8:45 pm, an unknown subject entered at least two vehicles in the same area. Various items were stolen. There is no suspect description.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 02/09/11, 2400 block of Wilson Boulevard. On February 9 between 5 pm and 9:30 pm, a suspect broke into at least three vehicles in the same parking lot. Various items were stolen from each. There are no known suspects.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 02/12/11, 800 block of Army Navy Drive. On February 12 between 6:45 pm and 9 pm, a suspect broke into at least two vehicles in the same parking garage. Various items were stolen from each. There are no known suspects.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 02/15/11, 4700 block of Lee Highway. On February 15 between 9 pm and 10 pm, a suspect broke into at least four vehicles in the same parking lot. Various items were stolen from each. There are no known suspects.
