by ARLnow.com June 3, 2011 at 2:02 pm 3,800 4 Comments

An individual has been found dead at the Days Inn (2202 Arlington Boulevard), near the intersection of Route 50 and Pershing Drive.

More than a half dozen police cars are on the scene, but so far we’re told that there’s no indication of foul play.

The deceased was found in a room that faces the parking lot in the rear of the hotel

I gotta say, the news from across the street about the development of old shopping center is better than this.

Address is incorrect. It’s 2201 Arlington Boulevard (at the NW corner of Arl Blvd & N Pershing Dr.). Addresses that are on the north and east side of streets are odd numbered (south and west are even).

Ummm… the Days Inn is on the *southwest* corner of Arl Blvd and N Pershing Dr… The NW corner is now a big construction hole.. Your compass has been hanging around too many centrifuge magnets(!)….

Very sad that someone died there.

Well, this is the old “ARVA Motel” considered an excellent example of post-war motel architecture. The building sold for $15 million a few years ago which makes many think that something’s going to happen. Rumor is they were wainting to see how the rezoning went across the street at the Lee Center.

To make way for building the ARVA motel in the early 50s, several houses were moved to the 700 block of N. Barton St.
