Crime Report: Workplace Assault Edition

In this week’s Arlington County crime report, there are two separate instances of assaults occurring among co-workers. First, on Sept. 7, an employee of the World Gym near Columbia Pike was accused of assaulting another.

ASSAULT AND BATTERY, 09/11/11, 1000 block of Walter Reed Drive. On September 7 at 2 pm, one employee of a gym assaulted another employee.

Then, on Sept. 9, the regional manager of a restaurant was allegedly assaulted by an employee in Rosslyn.

ASSAULT AND BATTERY, 09/09/11, 1400 block of Wilson Boulevard. On September 9 at 4:50 pm, a restaurant employee assaulted the restaurant’s regional manager.

ASSAULT AND BATTERY-ARREST, 09/08/11, 4000 block N. 5th Road. On September 7 at 11:30 pm, a woman spit in another woman’s face over a tow dispute. Reem Hagez, 29, of Charlotte, NC, was charged with Assault and Battery. She was released on a summons.
ASSAULT AND BATTERY, 09/09/11, 1000 block of Arlington Boulevard. On September 9 at 8 pm, a woman assaulted a man after a traffic altercation. The suspect was a white Hispanic female in her late 20’s, 5’7″ and 110 lbs. She was wearing a black leather jacket and drove away in a blue sedan

EXPOSURE (SERIES)-ARREST, 09/07/11, 3000-3100 blocks of N. 7th Street. On September 7 at 4:50 pm, a man asked two different women directions from a vehicle and exposed himself to both women. Police located the suspect. Steven Blumberg, 29, of Arlington, was charged with two counts of Indecent Exposure. He was held on a $4,000 bond.

BURGLARY, 09/02/11, 3400 block of N. Venice Street. Between noon on August 29, and 1 pm on September 2, an unknown person entered a house and stole various items. There is no suspect description.

BURGLARY, 09/09/11, 1400 block of S. Jeff Davis Highway. Between 5 pm on September 8, and 8 am on September 9, an unknown person broke into an office suite and stole computers. There is no suspect description.

BURGLARY, 09/09/11, 4200 block of Campbell Avenue. Between 9 am on September 8, and 9 am on September 9, an unknown person broke in to several rooms in a hotel and forced their way into several vending machines.. There are no known suspects.

BURGLARY, 09/10/11, 2600 block of S. June Street. Between 7:30 pm on September 9, and 12:10 am on September 10, a male and female in their “teens” entered a garage through a window. No items were stolen.

BURGLARY, 09/10/11, 5200 block of S. 10th Place. On September 10 between 1 am and 9 am, an unknown person entered a house and stole various electronic items. There is no suspect description.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 09/07/11, 1900-2000 blocks of N. Cameron Street. Between 9 pm on September 6, and 7 am on September 7, an unknown person broke into at least six vehicles. Some vehicles had items stolen from within. There are no known suspects.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 09/08/11, 2100 block of N. Brandywine Street. Between 10 pm on September 7, and 7 am on September 8, an unknown person broke into at least two vehicles on the same block. One vehicle had items stolen from within. There are no known suspects.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 09/10/11, 3800 block of Columbia Pike. Between 8:30 pm on September 9, and 9 am on September 10, an unknown person broke windshields of at least four vehicles on the same block. There are no known suspects.
