Crime Report: Attempted Rape in Buckingham

Arlington police have arrested a man and charged him with attempting to rape a woman in Buckingham last Friday afternoon.

Police say Hector Lopez Aguilar, 33, forced his way into an apartment on the 4200 block of N. Pershing Drive and tried to rape a 54-year-old woman.

He allegedly fled the scene when the woman fought back.

ATTEMPTED RAPE, 140328034, 4200 block of N. Pershing Drive. At 2:00 pm on March 28, an unknown subject forced his way into an apartment, assaulted a 54 year-old female victim and attempted to rape her. The suspect fled when the victim fought back.  Police located the subject the following day at a nearby apartment. Hector Lopez Aguilar, 33, of Arlington, VA, was arrested and charged with attempted rape and abduction with the intent to defile. He is being held without bond.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 140327073, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At 8:29 pm on March 27, three unknown subjects approached a 29 year-old male victim at a cell phone kiosk in the Mall and demanded his possessions. The victim fled to a nearby store and the subjects stole a cell phone off the kiosk. The suspects were described as black males in their late teens to twenties. One suspect had a slim build, tattoos around his eyes and a goatee.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 140401035, 4700 block of N. Lee Highway. On April 1 at 2:01pm, police responded to report of a robbery by force at the M&T Bank. The suspect entered the bank and demanded a teller provide him money. William Ushkurnis, 56, of Arlington, VA was charged with robbery and held without bond.

BURGLARY, 140331040, 200 block of N. Chain Bridge Road. On March 31 at 12:52pm, police responded to the report of a late burglary. The homeowner awoke in the middle of the night to a loud bang. He witnessed a subject fleeing the scene in a vehicle with Maryland temporary tags. Two of the victim’s paintings were destroyed and several items were stolen. The suspect is described as a 5’10”, 200 pound black male with a stocky build. At the time of the incident he was wearing cargo pants, a black leather jacket, and purple Reebok shoes. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 140401014, 3100 block of S. Jefferson Davis Highway. On April 1 at 9:03am, police responded to report of a stolen vehicle at a car dealership. It was determined that the dealership had been burglarized over night and a vehicle stolen. Investigation revealed a chain link fence was cut and the garage door glass shattered. The stolen vehicle is a 2003 burgundy Porsche Carrera 2D with DC plates reading BR0893. The investigation is ongoing.
