Crime Report: Robbery in Buckingham

A man was robbed after getting out of his car, in the middle of the afternoon, Monday in the Buckingham neighborhood.

The strong-arm robbery happened on the 4200 block of N. Pershing Drive, a block of shops, restaurants and apartments just southwest of Glebe Road. The suspect stole the victim’s belongings and then drove off.

ROBBERY BY FORCE, 2017-04240122, 4200 block of N. Pershing Drive. At approximately 1:30 p.m. on April 24, officers responded to the report of a robbery by force that had just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined as a male victim exited his vehicle he was grabbed from behind by an unknown male subject. The male subject then stole the victim’s belongings and fled the scene in a nearby vehicle. The subject is described as a black male in his forties, approximately 5’09”-6’0″ tall with a heavy set build. He was wearing a brown jacket and a black hat. The investigation is ongoing.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 2017-04250276, 2500 block of S. Walter Reed Drive. At approximately 9:49 p.m. on April 25, officers responded to the report of an attempted burglary in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined an unknown subject(s) attempted to gain entry into a residence but was unsuccessful. While on scene, police responded to a second report of an attempted burglary in the vicinity. That investigation revealed that an unknown subject(s) attempted to gain entry into a residence but was unsuccessful. Officers set up a perimeter and canvased the area with negative results. There is no subject(s) description in either case. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 2017-04250112, 400 block of S. 12th Street. At approximately 10:30 a.m. on April 25, officers responded to the report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined an unknown subject(s) entered a business and stole items of value. There is no subject(s) description. The investigation as ongoing.

BURGLARY, 2017-04250112, 400 block of S. 12th Street. At approximately 10:30 a.m. on April 25, officers responded to the report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined an unknown subject(s) entered a business and stole items of value. There is no subject(s) description. The investigation as ongoing.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2017-04220056, 2300 block of N. Nottingham Street. At approximately 3:04 a.m. on April 22, officers responded to the report of an unlawful entry. Upon arrival, it was determined a known subject entered a residence without the owners permission. The investigation is ongoing.

TRESPASSING(significant), 2017-04190017, 1200 block of S. Eads Street. At approximately 1:25 a.m. on April 19, officers responded to the report of two suspicious subjects trespassing. Upon arrival, a K9 officer observed the suspects fleeing the scene on foot. A perimeter was established and a brief foot pursuit ensued. One subject was apprehended shortly after. Further investigation revealed at least one vehicle had been tampered with. Daikel Holsey-Stewart, 19, of Capitol Heights MD, was arrested and charged with tampering with auto, trespassing, and fugitive from justice. The investigation is ongoing.
