Registration is open for the annual PNC Parkway Classic, hosted by Pacers Running.

The event, which draws thousands of runners from around the country, takes place Sunday, Nov. 7 with a 7:30 a.m. start time for the 5K and an 8 a.m. start time for the 10-miler.

This year the course runs out and back from Oronoco Bay Park in beautiful Old Town Alexandria and along the George Washington Parkway. Enjoy running the historic streets of Alexandria, and take in the vistas of the Potomac.

A favorite since it began in 1984, the PNC Parkway Classic is a rare opportunity for runners of all abilities to run in historic Alexandria. The event includes a 10-mile race, a 5K and a kids’ dash. There are also virtual options available for the 5K and 10-mile this year.

Finish up the run with friends and family and enjoy one of the many outdoor eateries in Old Town. Easy, free parking is available!

You can find more information about the event and register online.

At Generation Hope, we’re dedicated to supporting teen parents in college as they work toward earning their degrees. We are in need of caring child care volunteers for upcoming events on Saturday, October 21st (in Washington, DC), and Saturday, November 4th (in Arlington, VA). Join our growing volunteer community and support us at an event this fall!

At all of our events, we provide free onsite child care for the children of the teen parents we serve, creating a nurturing environment for the kiddos while their parents learn valuable life skills and build community.
