Latest ACPD Crime Data — “Overall arrests and Group A (serious) crime offenses were down in January compared to the same month the previous two years, although the number of juveniles taken into custody showed a bump up, according to new data from the Arlington County Police Department.” [Gazette Leader]

Another Crash on Camera — From Dave Statter: “Crash tonight at Army Navy & S. Hayes in Pentagon City. One driver apparently didn’t like sitting behind another car in the left turn lane from the I-395N ramp. So they drove around them. The video shows how that worked out. Making this left turn onto eastbound Army Navy from other than the turn lane is a common theme in the crashes at this intersection.” [Twitter]

W-L Grad Sets College Record — “In high school at Washington-Liberty, Ian Naff became a standout track and field athlete. Now in college at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, it hasn’t taken the freshman long to make his mark on that level of competition. At a meet at Boston University, Naff ran his way into the history books after setting the indoor school record in the 400 meters. Naff crossed the finish line with a time of 48.35.” [Gazette Leader]

Governor’s Budget Released — “At the halfway point of his administration, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin unveiled a budget proposal that calls for significant income tax cuts, increases in state sales and use tax — and a push to get rid of the car tax, which the Republican called ‘the single most hated tax’ in Virginia.” [Virginia Mercury]

The north wind of 6 to 9 mph will shift to the west in the afternoon. Expect a 70% chance of precipitation and possible new rainfall amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch.
