ACPD investigating armed robbery of scooter near Wakefield High School

A teen was robbed of a phone, cash and an electric scooter by a pair of gun-wielding suspects near Wakefield High School.

That’s according to the latest Arlington County Police Department crime report.

The alleged incident happened in late March on the 1400 block of S. Dinwiddie Street. Police were first told of the armed robbery Friday night.

“At approximately 8:29 p.m. on May 17, police were dispatched to the late report of an armed robbery,” said the crime report. “It was determined at approximately 3:20 p.m. on March 22, the juvenile male victim was at a bus stop when he was approached by two male suspects.”

“Suspect One then brandished a firearm while Suspect Two stole the victim’s phone and an undisclosed amount of cash. Suspect One stole the victim’s e-scooter before fleeing the scene with the other suspect,” the crime report continues. “No injuries were reported.”

Both suspects were around 16-17 years old, according to police.

“The investigation is ongoing,” said ACPD.
