A 67-year-old Arlington man was arrested after a spat with a driver allegedly turned destructive.
The incident happened just before 7 p.m. on along the 3800 block of Fairfax Drive, near Oakland Park in Virginia Square.
“At approximately 6:56 p.m. on August 20, police were dispatched to the report of an assault just occurred,” said Arlington County Police Department spokeswoman Ashley Savage. “The preliminary investigation indicates the male suspect approached the female victim, who was inside her vehicle, and confronted her about her parking.”
“A dispute ensued, during which the victim threw water at the suspect and the suspect allegedly struck the windshield of the victim’s vehicle with his cane, causing damage,” Savage continued.
The 67-year-old suspect was “was arrested and charged with Destruction of Property.” Scanner traffic suggests that he was the one who initially called police, to report the woman refusing to move her car and then throwing a bottle of water.
The woman was working as a delivery driver at the time, a tipster told ARLnow.
