Va. Attorney General Backs County Board Contender: Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares has endorsed GOP Arlington County Board candidate Juan Carlos Fierro.
Fierro “is a father, businessman and effective leader in Arlington,” Miyares said in a statement released by the Arlington County Republican Committee. “I trust that Juan Carlos will work tirelessly to lower taxes and implement policies that keep our communities safe in Arlington.”
It will be a second-time run for Fierro, who also sought a County Board post last year but finished out of the running. In 2024, he is facing off against Democrat J.D. Spain Sr., independent Audrey Clement and Madison Granger of the nascent Forward Party.
Miyares is widely expected to run for governor next year, as incumbent Glenn Youngkin cannot succeed himself. The attorney general may end up facing off against Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears for the Republican nomination for governor.
