Annual Clarendon Day street festival returning next week

The annual Clarendon Day street festival is coming back next week with a full day of food and fun.

Nearly 90 shops and businesses are on track to be represented at the celebration, which will bring live music, vendors and family friendly attractions to Clarendon from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28.

A total of 16 local restaurants, including the new Wagamama and Smokecraft Modern Barbecue, are scheduled to have a presence.

A kids zone will have both an inflatable slide and an inflatable obstacle course, plus glitter tattoos and balloon animals, according to the festival’s website.

Three musical acts, listed below, are scheduled to perform throughout the day.

  • 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: A.J. Smith
  • 1 p.m.-2:45 p.m.: Pebble to Pearl
  • 4 p.m.-5:45 p.m.: 19th Street Band

Spanning eight blocks around Clarendon’s Metro station at 3100 Wilson Blvd, the festival will shut down some roads to accommodate crowds and activities, an ACPD spokesperson confirmed. A list of road closures was not available at publication time.
