Arlington high school sports schedule for Oct. 18-24

Arlington high schools have a full week of sports ahead.

Three high-school football games will be Friday night (Oct. 18)  involving Arlington teams.

Other events include the upcoming Liberty District girls field hockey tournament and the qualifying event for the Virginia High School League’s Girls State Open golf tournament.

The Washington-Liberty and Bishop O’Connell cross country teams are entered in a big Virginia showcase meet.

Other teams from Washington-Liberty, Yorktown, Wakefield and Bishop O’Connell will be in action throughout the week in other sports.

FRIDAY, OCT. 18

Football

•  Yorktown at Langley, 7 p.m.
•  Wakefield at Marshall, 7 p.m.
•  Bishop O’Connell at St. Mary’s Ryken, 7 p.m.

Field Hockey

•  Bishop O’Connell at Spalding, 5:30 p.m.
•  Washington-Liberty at McLean, 7 p.m.

Girls Soccer

•  Bishop O’Connell at Good Counsel,  4 p.m.
•  Washington-Liberty at McLean, 7 p.m.

SATURDAY, OCT. 19

Cross Country

•  Bishop O’Connell at Virginia Showcase meet, 10 a.m.
•  Washington-Liberty at  Virginia Showcase meet, 10 a.m.

MONDAY, OCT. 21

Golf

• Arlington girls at State Open qualifier in Clifton, 10 a.m.

Girls Volleyball

• Paul VI  at Bishop O’Connell, 6:30 p.m.

Girls Tennis

• Bishop O’Connell at St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes, 4:15 p.m.

Field Hockey

• Liberty District tournament, times and teams TBA
