Super Bowl LIX in Arlington: 11 places to eat, drink and watch the game

The Commanders may not be going to Super Bowl LIX, but restaurants and bars across Arlington are gearing up for the big game this weekend.

Whether you’re looking for a lively crowd or food specials to cater your party at home, the following businesses are hosting parties and meal deals as the Chiefs and the Eagles face off this Sunday, Feb. 9.

Where to watch

Clarendon Ballroom

Watch the game on the Clarendon Ballroom’s 50-foot projector wall or 20-foot television wall. The restaurant and bar is offering a $29 bottomless buffet, drink specials and $25 pitchers of beer. Doors open at 5 p.m. with free entry for a pregame party and happy hour.

Crystal City Sports Pub

This watch party on the pub’s third level includes appetizers, a buffet, a free raffle and guaranteed seating at $75 per person. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and reservations must be prepaid.

Mister Days

Mister Days will offer food specials before and during the game, alongs with special giveaways. Group takeout menus will also be available for those partying at home. Reservations can be made for groups of six or more.

Punch Bowl Social

Punch Bowl’s Super Bowl party in Ballston features a $30 build-your-own drink bucket special for six cans. The venue will serve its casual menu offerings and shareable appetizers while hosting a game of Super Bowl bingo. Other games like corn hole and darts will also be available.

The Renegade

This self-proclaimed “Eagles nest” is go-to spot for Philly fans this Sunday. (Swaths of green were spotted there on Sunday, Jan. 26 when the Eagles played the Commanders.) The Renegade is offering ribs and specials on cheesesteak egg rolls, buffalo chicken shrapnel, fried chicken and beer. Doors open at 1 p.m.

Custom cookies from Baked by Rowshan

This Arlington-based baker is offering Super Bowl-themed sugar cookies with spirited team designs and intricate, iced details. One dozen Super Bowl cookies are priced at $60, and orders must be placed by Thursday evening for pickup on Sunday.

Chicken wings from First Down Sports Bar & Grill

First Down is offering chicken wing packages with 30 wings for $55, 50 wings for $80, and 100 wings for $150. All packages come with fries, veggies and dressing, and larger packages come with an additional liter or two of soda. Orders must be placed by Friday, Feb. 7.

Game day feasts from Open Road Grill

Open Road Grill in Rosslyn is accepting Super Bowl meal preorders until Wednesday, Feb. 5 for chicken wings, bites and tenders with customizable seasonings. Order 16, 24 or 48 wings, or bites and tenders by the pound.

‘Pint & pizza’ deal from Quinn’s on the Corner

Now through Super Bowl Sunday, Quinn’s is offering a $15 “pint & pizza” deal with its Detroit-style pies. These come in plain cheese, pepperoni, veggie, buffalo chicken and Hawaiian varieties.

Chicken wings from Ragtime

More game day chicken wing deals can be found at Ragtime in Courthouse. The restaurant is offering wing buckets to-go, grilled or fried, with 20 pieces for $35 or 40 pieces for $60. Buckets come with celery and two sauces.

Barbecue packages from Texas Jack’s Barbecue

Texas Jack’s is taking custom preorders for scheduled pickup on Super Bowl Sunday. Packages come with a choice of smoked meats like brisket, spare ribs and pulled pork. These come with classic barbecue sides and appetizers like brisket egg rolls and Kansas City-style burnt ends. Orders must spend a minimum of $99.

Free sober rides on Sunday night

The Washington Regional Alcohol Program is partnering with Lyft to offer free Super Bowl Sunday rides from 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9 through 4 a.m. the next morning. During the eight-hour period, residents can check WRAP’s website for a code to enter into Lyft’s payment tab for a free ride worth up to $15. This is the anti-DUI program’s first time offering free rides during the big game.
