General Assembly salutes Arlington Olympic champion Huske

The recently-concluded 2025 General Assembly session included a legislative salute to Arlington hometown Olympian Torri Huske and her performance during last year’s Summer Olympics, held in Paris.

Huske is a 2021 graduate of Yorktown High School.

In those 2024 Olympics, Huske won five medals, three golds and two silvers. The county turned out in late August to celebrate her success.

One of her golds was for winning the 100-meter butterfly. One of her silvers was for finishing second in the 100 freestyle. The other medals came when Huske was a member of first- and second-place relays.

Huske “has set an example for younger athletes through her determination, dedication and good sportsmanship, and was an outstanding ambassador for the commonwealth during the 2024 Summer Olympics,” noted the resolution, patroned by Del. Adele McClure (D-2) and cosponsored by the other members of the Arlington delegation.

It passed both houses of the General Assembly unanimously.

Huske currently is a member of the Stanford University women’s swimming team as a red-shirt junior.

At Yorktown, Huske led the Patriots to multiple district, region and state championships, winning numerous races in all three of those competitions during her four-year high school career.
