A read-end collision on Arlington Blvd (Route 50) caused delays in the Arlington Forest neighborhood today.
Just before 11:30 a.m., a dark-colored SUV collided with the rear of a stopped vehicle in a line of cars at the road’s intersection with Park Drive, traffic camera footage shows.
The SUV can be seen swerving left in a late attempt to avoid the vehicle, according to footage posted by local public safety watcher Dave Statter.

No serious injuries were reported, but there were some minor injuries, according to Arlington County Police Department spokeswoman Ashley Savage. A teen driver was cited in the crash, she said.
“As a result of the crash, the victim vehicle was pushed into two additional vehicles,” said Savage. “Minor injuries were reported. The driver of the striking vehicle, a juvenile female, was cited with Failure to Maintain Proper Control. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.”
The crash closed three of Route 50’s four eastbound lanes near the intersection until approximately 1 p.m., according to Arlington Alert.
More than 55 crashes have been reported at the intersection of Arlington Blvd and Park Drive since 2013, including five considered “severe,” according to county data.
