ACPD: Knife-wielding man chases good Samaritan in Rosslyn

A man who tried to intervene in a dispute was chased by a drunk, knife-wielding suspect last week, according to Arlington County police.

The incident happened Friday evening in the area of the Queens Court Apartments in Rosslyn, along 18th Street N. No one was hurt but the suspect is now facing a couple of felony charges.

ATTEMPTED MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2025-03210164, 18th Street N. at N. Quinn Street. At approximately 5:25 p.m. on March 21, police were dispatched to the report of a fight. Upon arrival, it was determined the female victim was outside a residential building when the male suspect, who is known to her, approached and engaged her in conversation. The suspect then brandished a knife and made threatening statements towards the female victim. The male victim subsequently attempted to intervene during which the suspect began to chase him with the knife before returning to the scene where responding officers located him and took him into custody. No injuries were reported. During the course of the investigation, a knife was recovered. [The suspect], 45, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Attempted Malicious Wounding (x2) and Public Intoxication.
