Video: Driver narrowly escapes disaster as tree falls across George Mason Drive

A driver just missed a tree falling on their vehicle in Arlington’s Douglas Park neighborhood today.

The incident happened just after noon on S. George Mason Drive, north of Four Mile Run Drive.

In a video posted by local public safety watcher Dave Statter, the large tree can be seen falling across the roadway with no warning, amid the early spring sunshine.

At least 1-2 parked cars appeared to be damage, but no injuries were reported. The tree has been cleared and the road is back open as of publication time.
