Motorcycle rider seriously hurt in crash near Ballston

A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries this morning in a crash along N. Glebe Road.

The crash happened around 11 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Glebe, just south of the Henderson Road/Quincy Street intersection, near Ballston.

Initial reports suggest the motorcycle rider clipped a car while in traffic, sending them to the pavement. The victim was unconscious in the middle of the street when police and medics were dispatched, according to emergency radio traffic.

Traffic camera footage appeared to show the victim riding between the two lanes of slowing traffic just before the crash. People nearby rushed to help and could be seen tending to the victim before first responders arrived, as noted (below) by local public safety watcher Dave Statter.

The victim was rushed via ambulance to a local trauma center. So far there’s no update on their condition.
