A 42-year-old Arlington man is facing several charges after police say he threw a rock at a fire truck last night.
ACPD was dispatched to the intersection S. Walter Reed Drive at 19th Street S. just after 6 p.m. Tuesday after a firefighter reported that a man standing at a bus stop was throwing rocks at passing vehicles, including their fire truck.
“Responding officers located the male suspect on scene and attempted to take him into custody during which he was noncompliant,” Arlington County police said today in a crime report. “With the assistance of an additional responding officer, the suspect was subsequently taken into custody. During the course of the investigation, suspected narcotics were recovered.”
The suspect was identified as Colin Risher, 42, who was charged last May after allegedly throwing rocks at five vehicles on N. Glebe Road near Chain Bridge.
Court records show that Risher pled guilty to destruction of property charges in the fall, receiving a deferred disposition that kept him out of jail, for the time being. He was due back in court on those charges this November.
He’s now being held in jail pending a bond hearing on Thursday, court records show. He’s facing new felony and misdemeanor charges including Missile Into an Occupied Vehicle, Destruction of Property, Obstruction of Justice and Possession of Schedule I/II Controlled Substance.
