New 7-screen movie theater with dining service to open next month in Falls Church

The silver screen has found a new home in the Little City.

Paragon Theaters is set to open a new two-story theater with seven auditoriums, a bar, dining service and seating for over 600 moviegoers at 112 Founders Avenue next month.

“What we try to create, I guess, is the glory days of movies — where you have these intimate, boutique, sort of neighborhood theaters,” CEO Michael Whalen told ARLnow. “We want to bring that nostalgic look and feel back to the movies, with all the current technological amenities that we could do today.”

Paragon has dine-in service

  • Patrons can choose between general seating and heated “Lux Box” recliners, which come in sets of one or two.
  • Lux Box seats offer dining and drinks available to order via QR code.
  • The Florida-based theater company uses Dolby Atmos surround sound and large-format, “Axis15 Extreme” screens, which are about 65′ wide and slightly tilted to reduce eye strain.

The theater plans to open in May

  • A soft launch is scheduled for May 17-18.
  • The theater’s first official day will be Thursday, May 22. It plans to show Disney’s live action “Lilo and Stitch” and the new “Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning.”
  • Tickets come with free parking.

Kids can watch for $2 this summer

  • A $2 kids’ movie series will begin in June. The company also offers a $5 Ticket Tuesday promo for all guests.
  • Other planned features include sports game showings, curated film series and sensory-friendly movie nights.
  • This is Paragon’s only Virginia location. The company currently operates four theaters in Florida, plus a fifth theater in North Carolina.

The theater is holding a hiring event from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. next Saturday, April 26.
